Farewell to White City,
Which was always black;
Farewell to the ‘angels,’
Who will get the sack.
Farewell to housey-housey
And the dreary jazz.
And the spinning jennies
And the razzle-dazz.
Farewell to the rotten
Desire to win
By hooky or crooky
The other chap’s tin.
Farewell to the cancer
On the fair face of Perth.
Farewell to the pervert
Who gave it birth.
Now for disinfectants
To sweeten the spot,
And clean up the microbes
On the blighted blot.
